Dear Friends and Family -
As you may know, I am deeply involved with Mile High 360, a Denver-based nonprofit supporting young boys and girls as they work to become first-generation postsecondary graduates. Each student will commit up to 13 consecutive years (11 years old through 24 years old) on this work because it hard work and takes a lot of time.
Access to quality educational resources - from school to enrichment resources - is neither universally accessible nor equitably distributed.
Every student, but particularly those with the fewest resources, faces challenges on the path from middle school to career and life success.
This is where Mile High 360 steps in:
Mile High 360 is a comprehensive, wrap-around services program designed to provide first-generation college-bound students with after-school, weekend, and summer access to essential out-of-school resources in four core areas.
- Academic Assistance: Study skills support, tutoring, literacy enrichment, SAT prep, college visits, and an array of college preparation support;
- Health & Wellness Programs: Mental health support, drug and alcohol prevention, human development classes, cycling coaching, nutritional instruction, and cooking classes;
- Life Skills Experiences: Community service, summer travel, financial health classes, internships, resume building, and job support;
- Mentoring: Trained volunteer mentors are paired with students to help normalize postsecondary enrollment, set goals, and increase students' social capital.
Mile High 360 programming complements school-based learning by mobilizing and organizing essential out-of-school-time resources to address a child's social, emotional, and academic needs.
I am doing a bit of fundraising and would love you to join me in supporting Mile High 360 Students! 100% of your contribution will provide the resources students need to succeed in school and beyond!
