More About the Film

You may be familiar with the feature movie Robin's Wish which reveals the true story of actor Robin Williams and his battle with undiagnosed Lewy Body dementia (LBD).

From that movie, the Lewy Body Dementia Association (LBDA) and the producers of Robin's Wish created a 45-minute documentary adaptation, SPARK: Robin Williams and his Battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

LBDA uses this educational film to share information about Robin Williams and his battle with undiagnosed LBD to promote community and professional awareness and education. This adaptation looks deeper into the disease, its biology, clinical symptoms, and its impact on both the person with LBD and the primary caregiver.

WARNING: This movie discusses a family's experiences with LBD and suicide. It may be triggering to viewers with similar experiences.

About This Online Symposium

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2023
1:00 PM - 5:30 PM

This is our 3rd Annual Dr. Daniel I. Kaufer Memorial Caregiver Conference. Dr. Daniel Kaufer served on the Dementia Alliance Board of Directors from 2006 until his death in July 2020.

Dr. Kaufer was a source of knowledge, answers and hope for the families he served at the UNC Memory Disorders Clinic. His vision of “what dementia care should be” played out in his research and how he helped families get the resources they needed and deserved.

Dementia Alliance of North Carolina is honored to continue his legacy by establishing the Dr. Daniel Kaufer Memorial Caregiver Conference and the Dr. Daniel Kaufer Memorial CARE Fund.

This event will be recorded and shared with those who register.
