The reason why I am participating in the 48 Hours in the Life is to have a better understanding of the struggles, problems, and the dangers our homeless community experience. I would also like to bring attention to the issues of homelessness not just nationally but also locally.

Aurora is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless and near homeless in the Greater Evansville, IN area. Each year, it serves over 400 individuals: men, women, children and seniors.

48 Hours in the Life: The Homeless Experience Project is an Aurora event which aims to raise awareness towards the struggles individuals face when experiencing homelessness. This project is also a fundraiser for all of the programs that Aurora offers to help the men, women, children, and seniors who experience homelessness in our community. During this event, individuals from our community will give up their everyday lives and spend 48 hours on the streets and in shelters.
