The reason I have chosen to be a part of the 48 Hours in the Life is because I want to raise awareness for those people in our community that are the most vulnerable.  I can only imagine what it means to be homeless, and is why I want to participate, to gain a more clear perspective so I can better serve this population in my everyday work.

Aurora is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless and near homeless in the Greater Evansville, IN area. Each year, it serves over 400 individuals: men, women, children and seniors.

48 Hours in the Life: The Homeless Experience Project is an Aurora event which aims to raise awareness towards the struggles individuals face when experiencing homelessness. This project is also a fundraiser for all of the programs that Aurora offers to help the men, women, children, and seniors who experience homelessness in our community. During this event, individuals from our community will give up their everyday lives and spend 48 hours on the streets and in shelters.
