I serve the mission of my employer, Ascension St. Vincent, committing to serving all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Although it is a brief experience, I am seeking to better understand the struggles our homeless population face in our community and use this lesson in humility to further my work in serving our community.  

Aurora is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless and near homeless in the Greater Evansville, IN area. Each year, it serves over 400 individuals: men, women, children and seniors.

48 Hours in the Life: The Homeless Experience Project is an Aurora event which aims to raise awareness towards the struggles individuals face when experiencing homelessness. This project is also a fundraiser for all of the programs that Aurora offers to help the men, women, children, and seniors who experience homelessness in our community. During this event, individuals from our community will give up their everyday lives and spend 48 hours on the streets and in shelters.
