Aurora is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the homeless and near homeless in the Greater Evansville, IN area. Each year, it serves over 500 individuals: men, women, children, those with disabilities, and the re-entry population. 

The Homeless Experience Project is Aurora’s new fundraiser and awareness event and its purpose is to bring a greater understanding of the struggles the families and individuals face when homeless in our community. If you'd like to support Aurora, please donate to my fundraising page!

I am participating in Aurora’s 48 Hours in the Life because my time on the Commission on Homelessness has led me to realize the significantly growing population of individuals experiencing homelessness and how the struggles they face often go unnoticed. As an elected official, I hope to better understand the experiences these individuals face so that I can serve as a better advocate. Additionally, I hope that in shining a light on the important work our local organizations like Aurora perform each day, it will create greater awareness and support in our community.
