4 Paws for Abilities

Please Help Camden raise money for a 4 Paws for Abilities Service Dog!!

Camden was diagnosed with Autism at a very young age. Our family is learning and experiencing how Autism is effecting his life. We are concerned for what his future looks like and his safety. 

As Camden gets older it is becoming more evident the restrictions and struggles he faces with basic activities of daily living.  Camden has difficulty with communicating. At this time he is nonverbal and causing hurdles in his education and socialization. 

Due to severe sensory processing difficulties, Camden struggles with certain environments and daily outings.  He can become overwhelmed and anxious in social settings. Even simply taking him to a store or restaurant is becoming more and more difficult as he gets older. 

Our biggest concern is that Camden will elope without warning. He requires 1:1 to prevent putting himself in harm’s way.

All of these challenges are then heighten due to sleep disturbances that keep him awake most nights. When he has poor sleep, he becomes unregulated and activities become more challenging.

When we interviewed with 4 Paws for Abilities and they shared all the Benifits a Service animal could provide Camden our hearts filled with hope.  

A Service Dog for Camden can be specially trained to Track and prevent elopement. They can also help with sensory regulation and anxiety.  We were excited to see research showing how a service animal can help alleviate some of the difficulties Camden is facing and help enhance his ability to function more independently. 

Please help us raise money for the intense process and training of a service dog specifically for Camdens needs.  We hope this will give Camden more opportunities for success as well as bring our family some peace of mind.

Training a service dog to meet our child’s requirements can be very costly. On average it costs between $40,000-60,000 to raise, train, and place a service dog at 4 Paws for Ability. While 4 Paws for Ability fundraises to help cover a significant portion of this cost, families are tasked with raising $20,000 of that amount or $23,000 if receiving a poodle, doodle or papillon. We hope that we can receive assistance from our beloved family and friends to help make our service dog dream a reality.
