Training a service dog to meet our child’s requirements can be very costly. On average it costs between $40,000-60,000 to raise, train, and place a service dog at 4 Paws for Ability. While 4 Paws for Ability fundraises to help cover a significant portion of this cost, families are tasked with raising $20,000 of that amount or $23,000 if receiving a poodle, doodle or papillon. We hope that we can receive assistance from our beloved family and friends to help make our service dog dream a reality.
Hi, my name is Zhao and I am a differently-abled 7th grader. I've been begging my parents for years to get a service dog, and we all decided I am finally old enough and ready to take on the responsibility of a furry partner. My dog is going to help with things that are extra hard for me... like picking up things that I have dropped, opening doors, turning light switches on and off, and even helping me with balance when I move between my wheelchair and crutches. I think I'm most excited that my dog will be able to help me carry my school supplies from class to class at school so that I can be as independent as possible. I absolutely love animals, and can't wait to meet my new best friend.
If you prefer writing a check, please write “In honor of Zhao McEllroy” in the memo line and mail directly to 4 Paws For Ability: 207 Dayton Ave, Xenia, Ohio 45385
