Training a service dog to meet our child’s requirements can be very costly. On average it costs between $40,000-60,000 to raise, train, and place a service dog at 4 Paws for Ability. While 4 Paws for Ability fundraises to help cover a significant portion of this cost, families are tasked with raising $20,000 of that amount or $23,000 if receiving a poodle, doodle or papillon. We hope that we can receive assistance from our beloved family and friends to help make our service dog dream a reality.
Hey there! My name is Isaac and I am a type-1 diabetic! I was diagnosed at the age of 8 during the pandemic and it was really scary, but I've learned a lot about my disease. I wear an insulin pump and a continuous glucose monitor so that we can see my blood sugars at all times, but sometimes we need to react faster than technology. I don't usually start having symptoms from my lows until I am about 45 which is really low and dangerous. Having a dog by my side to help me through my diagnosis would be life changing for me. I've faced a lot of obstacles since my diagnosis, and I am ready to overcome more!!
