Join Kelly's Crusaders June 15th for the 5th Annual CRPS Awareness Walk!

This past year has had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows so it has been tumultuous to say the least.

I spent 7 straight weeks in the hospital with my mom by my side, thank you Mom, and frequent visits from Dad, Gunner, and Rachel! I spent half of that time in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and worked with the best physiatrist, physical therapists, and occupational therapists!

After 8 years I learned to walk again with a platform walker thanks to these incredible people, and I was able to go up and down stairs for the first time since 2006.

Rehab was going very well outpatient, but unfortunately during one of my tests I experienced an injury in my left arm which caused the CRPS to spread to my left arm. After 18+ years of the CRPS remaining in my right foot, ankle, and leg, this was devastating. What’s even worse is that the CRPS has now spread to my right arm. This is a rare occurrence, but there are times where CRPS can jump limbs or mirror another limb without an inciting incident. This has now changed the trajectory of my rehab, and it affects my everyday life from writing, to picking things up, to eating, and more, but I am determined to keep working hard. I will not let this condition get the best of me.

It is imperative that a cure is found for this awful condition. I hope you can join us on June 15th to bring us one step closer to finding a cure. If you don’t live in CT don’t let that stop you! We will be walking at the Sue Grossman Greenway in Torrington, time TBD! Since this is virtual, if you are not local to Connecticut you can still participate, make a donation, or sponsor the event.  Every little bit helps!  I have really appreciated everyone's support over the years. Last year we had over 75 people show up for the walk, and I was in awe of how the community came together to support not only me but others living with this horrendous condition. On top of that, there were Kelly's Crusaders walking in many other states! I can't wait to see what this year brings!
