RIP Ride for Vets Overview

My name is Col. (retired) Mikel Burroughs and I'm taking on a continental ride from Denver, Colorado to Manchester, NH and back to abolish medical debt for our nation's service men and women.

Each year, veterans are left on the hook for billions of dollars of medical debt, particularly for emergency care outside of the VA system.

RIP Medical Debt can purchase and abolish medical debt specifically for veterans in a random way. Each dollar donated abolishes roughly $100 of medical debt!

There are a couple of ways you can help me take this on!

1. You can donate right here, right now. All funds contributed through this campaign site are restricted to abolishing veteran debt nationwide. Give any amount you wish, or pledge an amount per mile travelled. I'm travelling a total of 4,163 miles.

2. Register for your own sub-campaign and ride with me! Click on the register link below and get your own campaign page to share with your network. We can even meet up on the road and ride together for a while. Can't ride with me? No problem, you can still raise money for Vet Debt by registering here and sharing the campaign with your contacts, friends, and family.

My goal is to raise $25,000. If I reach that goal, together we will be able to wipe out $2.5 million in medical debt for veterans. That's an excellent return-on-investment.

(Important: RIP Medical Debt cannot abolish debt by individual request. We all have loved ones we'd like to abolish debt for, but RIP cannot operate that way. They purchase large portfolios of debt and abolish it at once without control over the individuals whose names show up in the available portfolio – other than qualifying them as members or former members of the U.S. Armed Forces.)
