Gather your team and get ready to tackle your opponents at the Junior Achievement STEM Corporate Challenge!

York - May 22: Memorial Hall, York Fairgrounds
This event, based on our wildly popular 9th grade STEM Summit program, will put your STEM skills to the test and answer the burning question....Are you smarter than a 9th grader?
As part of the STEM Corporate Challenge, your 5-person team will compete against teams from other area companies in 5 different STEM-focused competitions, plus a fundraising challenge to see which team can raise the most money and earn the title of "JA Hero!"
Electrical Competition
In the electrical competition, each team is given a box of electrical parts with instructions on wiring a circuit comprised of five components. It is a timed event so points are awarded for fastest completion.
Relay Competition
The relay is a series of science and engineering activities that are done sequentially by each team. The secret is to work together and strategize on best approaches. It is a timed event so points are awarded for fastest completion.
Math Competition
The math competition is made up of four activities that involve geometry and mathematics. Time is allotted for each activity and points are awarded for a total score in each area.
Civil Engineering Competition
The civil engineering competition is a timed event where each team is given an assignment to build the tallest tower with materials provided. Points are awarded for the height of the tower.
Robotics Competition
The robotics competition has team members controlling robots to complete tasks on a game board. Points are awarded based on tasks completed in the time allotted.
In the STEM Challenge, referees will officiate each timed competition and points will be awarded based on the criteria specific to the challenge. The STEM Challenge trophy will be awarded to the team with the highest cumulative scores.
To earn the title of "JA Hero" in the fundraising competition, your team must raise the most money - over and above the $500 minimum. Prizes will be awarded for Top Team Fundraiser and Top Individual Fundraiser.
