Save the Date for Next Year - October 18, 2020!
This is our Diamond girl, who we adopted Dec ‘17. I dropped a stray cat off at the Potter League, and figured I’d go look at the dogs just for fun. I knew the second I saw her she was meant for our family! After a month of convincing my boyfriend, we went to go look at her...but she was on hold! The next day the hold fell through, so I knew it was meant to be. Now we couldn’t imagine our life without this silly girl!
The first time I met Georgie, he was an energetic 10 month old who didn’t even know his own name. With the Potter League’s help, Georgie went from living as a stray with serious health concerns to living in a happy & loving home where his every need is taken care of, and we couldn’t imagine life without him. With almost exactly a year since his gotcha day, Georgie’s favorite activities now include snuggling up against his human in their king sized bed, playing chase or tug with his fur brother, and taking naps on his very own armchair.
This is my sweet boy Eddie Munster, who I adopted from the Potter League in June of 2016. With my husband active duty in the Navy I needed a companion and Eddie Munster was the perfect fit! He enjoys sunbathing, snuggling with momma, and when mom and dad share their snacks with him. He hasn’t always been the easiest dog, but I am so thankful to the Potter League for giving me the best friend I never knew I needed.
This is Gio (Giovanni) aka the “Professor “ for anyone who remembers him. I adopted him in 2014 while volunteering. This was his 3rd time at Potter League and had already been there for a year. He chose me...skittish and shy...he crawled in my lap on my third visit with him. I knew I had to take him home! Medical issues aside, he is healthy, happy, and living his best life being very loved and spoiled!
This is Guinness (aka Rio). We adopted him on St Patrick's day 2018 - hence the name Guinness. We went to Potter League to look at a different dog and when I saw Guinness I knew he was the one. I have had many pets over the years, horses, days, cats and even a Guinea pig and I have loved them all but there is definitely something special about Guinness. He is the most loving, snuggly and well-behaved dog I have ever meet. We don't know anything about his past but I always wonder how he ended up in a shelter - how could anyone ever get rid of him - the most perfect dog ever created? He has definitely made our family complete and he has definitely stole my heart and ruin me for any other dog.
This is Seal. We adopted her 10 months ago. The day we adopted her (aka the best day ever) we met with a couple dogs and none of them clicked. As we were walking out we spotted Seal behind the front desk. She climbed into our laps right away and we took her home. She is the sweetest, most stubborn, funniest girl. She loves digging holes and going to work to give kisses to everyone.
The moment I saw Kane’s silly underbite on the Potter League website, I knew I had to meet him. He was considered a “special adoption” because of some skin-related issues, but he was definitely special for other reasons. I had no idea so much personality could be packed into one animal. Kane’s been my sleepy little shadow for nearly the past 4 years and I love having him by my side—usually napping, of course, and I’m honored to spend his golden years with him.
In Loving Memory of Kody. Kody was adopted from the Potter League 15 years ago and lived a wonderful 18 1/2 years old & was truly an incredible animal. He was by his Mom's side through life’s ups & downs and was truly her my best friend. His mom thanks the Potter League for The One ❤️ That one dog that changed her life, that dog one that can never be replaced, that one dog that was so special, that one dog everyone loved, that one dog that just seemed perfect, that one dog that made her smile every day, that one dog that was just simply amazing, that one dog who has her heart forever!
We adopted Lucy (right) from Potter League in 2016 - she was exactly what both my husband and I needed after we had both recently lost our own dogs just before getting married. She was the perfect addition and made our little family complete. After a while, we thought Lucy seemed a little bored so enter Bentley! Adopted in 2019 from Potter League! He’s a feisty little thing and they sure keep each other on their toes! But he’s always leaning on her or has to be touching her somehow when they’re just chilling on the couch. We’re so happy we could give these two special pups a home where they’re loved and spoiled every day. ❤️
I adopted 7 year old Martini on September 29, 2012 not realizing she would change my life. My husband had wanted a cat so badly, but I never grew up with pets, so I didn’t know what all the fuss was - until I got her home. Adopting our heart of gold “‘Tini” was the greatest decision I have ever made. She makes us a family and the most special one, at that! Recently she was diagnosed with lymphoma, which broke all of our hearts, but with some incredible care at Bay State, her cancer is no longer visible, she has been stabilized, and is still going strong. She’s a fighter and her heart is strong physically and emotionally. It’s impossible not to love Tini-Cat. We’re so lucky we went to Potter League to find our sweet fur baby.
In loving memory of Pudge. Pudge was adopted last April as a 4 year old tripod, and life was so wonderful with him in it! He was the perfect cuddle buddy in his snuggle pouch when you wanted to kick back and relax, and could always make you laugh while you watched him munch on some mealworms (his favorite snack!). He melted the hearts of the whole family, including the cat who considers him his best friend! Thank you to the Potter League so much for taking such good care of him until we found each other?
This is Rocky (FKA, Reggie) and adopting him was the best decision my fiancé and I ever made. It’s been a little over a year and we couldn’t ask for a better match. He loves everyone and everything and is so incredibly smart. This fall he will be training to become a search and rescue dog for lost pets in our area! I couldn’t have asked for a better dog in our family.
I adopted Roxie (FKA: Helen) in 2012 and it was love at first sight for the both of us. I was told she was found abandoned in the woods of Portsmouth and brought to the Potter League in tough shape. She loves to play dress up, pose for pictures, and chase squirrels. The whole family likes to spoil her because she is a little Diva Dog. Thank you to the staff at the PL for bringing us together. She is the love of my life.??
This is Salem, aka “Mama” who we adopted her 6 years ago. My husband went to look at puppies that had just come in. He played with the puppies but none of them seemed to be a good fit. As he was leaving this girl was behind the counter, she hadn’t even been put in a kennel and set up yet. As soon as he saw her and she saw him it was love. He put a hold on her and I went to meet her the next day. I never believed in love at first sight, but the second I saw her my eyes got teary and I knew we both needed each other. She is my absolute best friend and I would do anything for her.
Meet Boo! We adopted Boo back in September of 2018 and she has the most sassy and goofy personality, always making us laugh. Whenever we have guests over they always say that Boo isn’t a “normal” cat because she is so friendly and welcoming to everyone. She has truly made our house a home and I could not imagine our lives without her. Thank you Potter League for giving us the opportunity to make a positive impact on her life and on ours.
This is my handsome boy Tuco that we adopted two years ago come this October. The moment I met Tuco I knew he was the missing link to our family. He has brought so much love and joy into our home. He is my two sons protector, he gets along so well with his car brothers and is a spoiled mama’s boy. Thank you Potter League for entrusting is with this ball of sunshine!!
We got this beautiful girl Sept 2018. Went to Potter League looking for puppies did not find any that would fit in our lifestyle. We went back three days later because there were some puppies we had not see yet. Well I looked at Stella (formerly Aster) and her littermates and this girl came right over to the window looking at me with those eyes. She picked me and I fell in love. Stella fit right in with our other furry kids. Cash. our lab, loves her and Tommy, the cat, loves to tease and play with her. Stella has her forever home and is very much loved. ❤️
This is our little Miss Tess. We adopted her a little over two years ago from The Potter League. My daughter and I were on a mission that day to come home with a new pet to complete our family. We looked at so many adorable baby kittens, but then she saw this gorgeous “mature” lady of 11 years and knew she was the one. My daughter told me that she was worried that no one would take her home ever so we did! Tess has really completed us; thank you Potter League.
This is our adopted boy Thor. We were fortunate to come to Potter Leagye last July to donate food from a previous pet who we had recently lost for health reasons. Thor fell into or laps because of a wonderful volunteer who knew Thor's temperament was perfect for us. During last the Thanksgiving snowstorm I was so excited to take Thor outside and play in the snow. Well, he refused to come outside, being that he was picked up as a stray in California area, he did not seem to know what snow was. Forward a few months and he just loves snow so much now. Thor has been such a blessing and great dog. We are totally amazed by him. Thank you Potter League!
This is Topaz. We’re about a month away from her gotcha day, and our family has never felt more complete. That day we walked into PL to donate baby blankets for the animals, my husband pointedly saying we’re not getting a dog. We all saw her and our hearts melted, as she trotted to the door to see us too. We left PL, all of us, Joe included, talking non-stop about her. Two days later we brought her home. She’s a lovable snuggle bug that her girls love to cuddle with. Her favorite games are tug, fetch, and she loves using the girls slide with them. Having her join our family was the best, unplanned decision.
I adopted Reno, a 10yr old Mini Pin in December of 2018, one week before Christmas. And what a wonderful Christmas present to myself. Reno has been such a beautiful addition to our family. Thank you Potter League.
In early 2017, I had lost my cat due to health issues that diminished her quality of life. It took me a long while before I could think of bringing a new kitty home, however 10 months later I went to the Potter League as I felt that I was finally ready. I saw Chloe and she was purring so loud in her studio apartment (lol) that I could hear her loud & clear. And the more I talk to her the more she purred. She was just the perfect match for me. Chloe healed my heart and I couldn't imagine being without her. It's amazing how a pet can choose their new human. I am so glad she found me when I came through the Potter League. It was truly love at first sight. Thank you Potter League for letting me bring Chloe home. She is very spoiled well-loved and my bestie...we are a bonded pair ;)
Link (FKA, Kevin) opened my eyes to special needs rescue. Born with a birth defect causing him to be a tripod as well as a very sensitive immune system and extremely skittish personality. He was definitely a work in progress the first year I got him from you guys but it was beyond worth it. I will forever take in special needs cats. I am forever grateful you guys let me have this cat in my life. The bond we have together is the strongest bond I’ve had with an animal.
