Join us for the Union Home Mortgage Foundation’s 3rd Annual Hustle for Homeownership 5K - completely VIRTUAL with opportunities to participate all month long this August 2020!
Hustle for Homeownership is looking a little different this year! In order to bring our communities together in a safe and exciting way, the 2020 Hustle for Homeownership is going VIRTUAL this year, running for the whole month of August!
Sign up to run, walk, bike, swim, or even dance your way through 3.1 miles! Better yet, you choose your course, you choose your participant buddies and you choose which of our four pillars you’re getting active for: Financial Literacy, Career Readiness, Education and Housing; OR take on “The Challenge” and tackle a total of 12.4 miles for all four pillars!
Register by Thursday July 16, to get your race pack by August 1. All teams that get four or more participants by July 16, will also get their team name added to the list on the back of the shirts.
All proceeds from this year’s 5K will benefit the UHM Foundation, equipping families with the tools and resources to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Since 2015, the Foundation has given over $750,000 to programs and nonprofits in the areas of financial literacy, education, career readiness and housing (including over $50,000 in April in support of COVID relief efforts for our nonprofit partners).
- The virtual race will run throughout the entire month of August. You can complete your 5k distance at any point during the month. For those who dare to take on the Challenge of running for all four pillars, you may also complete each of these four races at any time during August.
- All registrants will receive a race t-shirt in the color corresponding to the chosen pillar or Challenge, a custom race bib, certificate of completion, and a medal! That’s right, this year everyone is a winner just for taking the time to get out and get moving! Registrants will not be required to submit times.
- How else can you contribute to this year’s Hustle for Homeownership? Ask your friends, family, and coworkers to participate with you! Create a team and share your fundraising link to help raise funds. For teams/individuals that raise over $250 before July 1, you will be recognized on the back of our race shirts. To help, we’ve even created a Hustle for Homeownership Bingo card to get you started.
- As a virtual race, so much of how we interact this year will be online. Take a minute to use our promotional marketing materials and social media pages to share your involvement and encourage others to do the same! Add our frame to your profile pictures, raise money with our bingo cards, invite others to our Facebook event, and even submit your favorite running songs to our playlist!
