I'm a little irritated right now, as I wrote my story, but this simple website did not save it.  C'est la vie.  I cannot let things like this block my blessing or get me down.  My life was forever changed on October 13, 2023 when I was diagnosed for breast cancer. BREAST CANCER?  It did not seem real and although I prayed that it would not happen to me, it did, so I had to make sure that I did not lose my faith or my joy for life.  I had my lumpectomy on December 19, 2023, then radiation in February and March 2024, every day for three (3) weeks.  Now, I have to take medicine every day for the next three (3) years, which seems unreal, but I am still standing.  I do not look like what I have been through/ what I am going through because it is a choice.  It is a choice to stand strong each day, because sadly, I am not alone, so we have to work together to support each other. I have had four people in my life who have been diagnosed right after me and that is huge problem. We have to fight to make sure that all those who need their regular mammograms, receive them.  If I found this through a routine mammogram, then there are others who will be like me.  Let's stand together. I am walking for myself and all of my conquerors.
