Hands and Feet: Pack the Back

The Pelora Group stewardship arm Hands & Feet has partnered with Classroom Central during their 9 School Tools Supply Drive 2023 to support children in the Charlotte Metro area that are in need of backpacks and school supplies to start off the 23-24 school year. 

To get things started Hands & Feet has made a $3,500 donation to help us achieve our goal of $7,000. The initial donation will purchase 100 backpack kits, with the goal of purchasing an additional 100 kits to make a difference in 200 students lives. 

How can you help?

We are asking for your help in hiting our goal of $7,000. Hands and Feet has made the promise that for every $35 donated (the cost of a backpack build) they will match! This means that for every $35 that you donate two students will receive the supplies that they need for a successful start back to school.

Classroom Central fosters equity in education by providing teachers and students with the free resources they need to succeed. We serve teachers and students in over 200 schools across six school districts in the Charlotte Region.

Your support is more crucial this year than ever before. Every November, we receive updated statistics on free/reduced lunch for the schools we cater to. Typically, there are a few schools that become eligible due to changes in student populations. However, this year is different. We have welcomed 34 newly eligible schools, and what's even more significant is the addition of 38,000 sudents who are relying on our support. This marks the largest increase in our 20-year history, with several schools that have never qualified or required our assistance before. To ensure we can adequately meet the needs of these additional students without compromising our impact on those already being served, we must obtain more essential supplies like paper and pencils, which are crucial for both students and teachers.
