Adoption Angel Lock In

I'm raising money for Humane Society of Northeast Georgia!

I’m thrilled to be participating in Adoption Angel Lock In, a fundraiser supporting Humane Society of Northeast Georgia! I love working at HSNEGA because I have the opportunity to work with cases like Rock Lobster. Rock Lobster came to our shelter as part of a neglect case with five other dogs. Rock Lobster was only about 18 months old when we got him and he had LOTS of puppy energy. Unfortunately, he had stenotic nares (narrowed nostrils), enlarged and everted tonsils, and a very elongated soft palate. These airway issues are common in English Bulldogs and his issues were so severe that he would collapse and start going into respiratory distress after 5-10 minutes of playing inside.

The surgery to correct his issues ranges from about $5000-8000 depending on the severity. HSNEGA often has the ability to take on complex cases like this that otherwise would not receive treatment. The post op care for this surgery is about 2 weeks of time consuming care. I performed a multi stage airway surgery on Rock Lobster and he was sent to a very dedicated foster home to recover.

Rock Lobster has done amazing after his surgery. He went from a dog that couldn't play in the air conditioning to a dog that loves going on walks outside and can finally breathe. Just look at those little tiny nostrils he had to start! Animals like Rock Lobster are able to get advanced care at HSNEGA through generous donations.
