Disney and Feeding America have teamed up to inspire healthier generations by expanding access to fresh produce and nutritious foods in communities where kids and families need it most. 

 

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, unemployment has soared and food insecurity is on the rise. In 2020 more than 50 million people, including 17 million children, may face hunger because of the health and economic impacts of the coronavirus.

 

In the Chicagoland area ABC7, a Disney company, is encouraging our community to support the local food banks that provide millions of meals annually for our neighbors in need. We hope to raise $150,000 this December to feed families for the holidays and ABC7 and Disney have kicked off the campaign with a $35,000 matching gift!

 

All donations received will be processed by Northern Illinois Food Bank and directed to the donor’s local food bank by address.

Feeding America Provides Access to Fresh Produce for Families in Need

From the proud farmers growing food for the world to the hundreds of volunteers manning food banks and processing centers, it takes a small army to make sure families in need have access to fresh produce. Thanks to Disney’s commitment to Feeding America, farms can provide produce to Feeding America’s network of over 200 food banks and 60k food pantries, including the Northern Illinois Food Bank, as well as supplying donations for refrigeration and equipment, all in an effort to solve hunger in America.
