Help me reach my goal by supporting a wonderful organization!
I am fundraising for Leader Dogs for the Blind! Leader Dog is a 501(c)3 whose mission is empowering people who are blind or visually impaired with lifelong skills for safe and independent daily travel. All of the services and programs they provide are at absolutely NO CHARGE to the clients, which is pretty amazing.
Leader Dog does not receive any state or federal funding so every little bit counts! Please join me in supporting Leader Dog to help change the lives of so many in need.
When I competed in my first half marathon I was motivated by raising money for a different organization. This fall, on October 16, I will be running my first full marathon in Detroit. I decided at the end of last year that I wanted to complete a full marathon before I turned forty and that birthday is quickly approaching (luckily I don't feel that old)!
My first interaction with Leader Dogs for the Blind was when I was in the Lion's Club, which is a fundamental sponsor of Leader Dog. Since moving to the east side of Michigan we are now closer to their headquarters in Rochester and were reminded of the great work they do. We will also be welcoming our first Leader Dog in training into our home hopefully sometime in August. Don't worry we'll share pictures as we train our first puppy!
Thank you for your prayers as I train for the Detroit Maration and your support of Leader Dogs for the Blind.
