Help Me Cross The Finish Line!
City Year & Me
WHAT IS CITY YEAR?
City Year is an education nonprofit organization founded in 1988 dedicated to helping students succeed in school districts with limited resources and high needs. City Year is located in 29 different U.S. cities and has 3 affiliate locations in the United Kingdom and 1 affiliate location in South Africa. City Year is a branch of the State & National division of AmeriCorps, which in turn is a branch of the Corporation for National and Community Service. City Year is also supported by school district partnerships as well as private philanthropy from corporations, foundations, and individuals.
City Year members are 18-24 year olds from across the United States who come together to give support to students academically, socially, and emotionally. Members serve as "near peers" and provide mentorship and tutorship. City Year's model is intended to help students stay in school and on track to graduate high school.
WHAT YOU CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
With that being said, I have chosen to run the LA Marathon this year where I will be raising money for City Year. Any donation helps and I appreciate the love and support. Thank you!
