Every year around this time when the wind starts to burn my face and the walk between my work building and my car seems to be a mile long, I find myself feeling so thankful that I have a warm place to sleep at night. And a warm car to transport myself in. People in our community are living without so many of the things we take for granted every day.
Last year, I donated to my friend who participated in this event. I was so moved by his dedication to helping others. This year, when he asked me to donate, I felt a tug to do more. So inspired by my friend Dustin, I am committing myself to spend just one night outside in the freezing cold in a cardboard box. And I am also committing myself to spread awareness and raise funds for an organization that is vital to our community.
Whether you can give $1, or you can give $100, please donate and help make a difference in the lives of those in our community who do not have an address. Thank you for your support!
