As many of your know, I am the Program Coordinator for Raising Hope. I love that I have the opportunity to provide some of the first smiles for a child just removed from their home.
Our Rooms of Hope provide these children with the essentials they need, like clothing and hygiene items. We also provide comfort items like stuffed animals, books, and fun fleece blankets to match their personality.
Just a day before writing this, a little girl came in shyly. She followed the Child Protective Investigator around as they grabbed the hygiene items and school supplies she needed and then I offered to help her find some clothes. When we came across a sequined unicorn shirt her eyes lit up! With a huge smile on her face, she told me that unicorns were her favorite. For a moment, the stress of the day was far from her mind.
We help over 350 children a month. Can you help keep our Rooms of Hope full so we can provide even more smiles?
I hope you'll join us on the beautiful Courtney Campbell Bridge for our first in-person Walk a Mile 5k Fun Walk.
