More than 812,000 individuals – or 1 in 6 Cook County residents – are relying on the Food Depository’s network for assistance annually. These individuals come from every neighborhood in Cook County and face unique challenges to accessing nutritious food. To meet this need in Fiscal Year 2018, the Food Depository is on track to provide approximately 73 million pounds of food to the community, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy products and wholesome shelf-stable foods.
For every dollar donated the Food Depository can provide the equivalent of three meals. Meaning each team participating in Kicks for Community will provide a minimum of 5,100 meals to our neighbors in need.
