An amazing man was taken away from me and the others that were graced to know him. David was an exceptionally intelligent man who loved life. He seemed to know a little about everything. He loved playing pool with his friends, biking all over Oregon, cooking, playing golf, being with family and friends, singing and playing his guitar, and taking walks with his dog Grace and me.
My husband was taken away from all who knew him by Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) on March 17, 2019, at the young age of 57. He started showing signs of a problem as early as June 2018 and was under the care of a neurologist by the end of summer. After searching for a treatable diagnosis for six months, it was ultimately determined that he had CJD, an incurable and untreatable disease that is always fatal fast. He passed within three weeks of the CJD diagnosis being confirmed by his neurological team.
CJD is a horrible disease that took David very quickly. He was at peace when he passed. I was there by his side holding his hand. I hope a cure is found for this terrible disease. I hope that you will donate to this foundation so we can support their research.
I am very blessed to have known David for as long as I did he always had a fun story to tell me and life goals to talk about I love and miss you very much David. May you rest in piece with Grace.
Ginger...I am so very sorry for your loss. While I never had the opportunity to meet David, I know he was another creative, intelligent and loving Kartchner guy from the stories I’ve heard. I’m so sorry. Peace, Strength and Love to you always.
