On September 27th, I am participating in a fundraiser for cancer research called “Hackers For Hope”. I’ll be golfing to raise money for important cancer research.
The money raised is given to various hospitals and medical institutions which include: Bennett Cancer Center at Stamford Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY, NY McCooey Memorial Research Fund, Weill Cornell Medical College, Donate Life CT and the Cannonball Kids Cancer Foundation. The funds go directly towards research and treatment.
Over the past 31 years, Hackers For Hope has raised over $16,000,000 to support these and other organizations--and the great thing about Hackers For Hope is that there is very minimal overhead. Nearly all the money raised is put towards the goal – finding a cure for cancer.
Personally, I have seen the impact that the hospitals and medical institutions mentioned above can have on cancer patients. The work they are doing is nothing short of miraculous and I am honored to be raising money for such a great cause.
