My Personal Fundraising Page
I got into journalism because growing up, I always wanted someone to ask me what was going on in my home. I wanted someone to know what my reality was like. Now I ask others about theirs, and I'm surrounded by courageous men and women who risk their lives in dangerous places to ensure people's stories are known. I run because journalists should be safe doing their jobs. I run so that if any of my friends or colleagues are taken hostage or are unjustly imprisoned, like Jim Foley was, they have someone fighting for them to get home. Jim was killed in Syria by ISIS in 2014. I run so that we don't forget.
