Quack Attack on Poverty 5K supports the mission and purpose of United Against Poverty Orlando to inspire and empower individuals living in poverty to lift themselves and their families from poverty to self-sufficiency. More than 350,000 households in Central Florida are working yet struggling to make ends meet. Based on the Heart of Florida United Way's 2018 ALICE report, in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties, 46% of families are living on the verge of financial disaster. Today, UP Orlando (as our clients call us) has earned recognition as the busiest single-site social service agency in the state of Florida, serving an average of 525 individuals each day. In 2018, our campus provided services for 11,224 unduplicated families. 100% of program participants fall at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and the majority reside in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.Your gift today helps those families build a bridge to higher ground through workforce training, education, crisis navigation, case management and access to affordable food and household goods.
