Why I support Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement is a great program to teach financial literacy to kids.  In the Tampa Bay Area, they support two excellect programs, Biz Town and Finance Park.  In 5th grade, all students go to Biz Town and are assigned a job and learn how to deposit money they earn from their job to a bank account. In eighth grade, the students go back to Finance Park, which is a separate storefront and they are given a job, with a salary and also a family - or not.  The objective of Finance Park is to manage the funds you receive from your job with the responsibilities of life, such as a mortgage, car, cell phone bill etc.  I have been fortunate enough to chaperone my kids to both places and they are great programs.  For the eighth graders I think it was a real eye opener to try and make lifestyle choices based on their income.  I feel very passionate about these programs and hope you will cinsider learning more about them and donating money or time to them.  As a side note, the Auto Club Group has a store front in Biz Town and Finance Park has a room dedicated to Marvin Holloway and AAA.
