My mother’s family was from Lake Placid, NY. And, so, while growing up, we spent lots of time visiting my grandmother and enjoying just about everything that the Adirondack Mountains had to offer. Hiking, skiing, swimming, ice skating, boating, dog sled rides… My mom taught us about the different trees and flowers that grow in the mountains, and my grandmother made fresh balsam pillows at Christmas time. My mom and grandmother are both gone now, but I still love spending as much time as I can in the Adirondacks.
This year, the ADK, Adirondack Mountain Club, is 100 years old! There are a number of commemorative celebrations going on this summer, and this 100 mile challenge is the first celebration that I am planning on participating in!
Please consider sponsoring me as I walk, hike, and bike at least 100 miles in 100 days to raise money for the ADK. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
