From emergency assistance to educational assistance, to community programs, to helping widowed spouses stay in their home as long as possible, to providing a home for them when they no longer can -- the four charities of the AFAF Campaign provide assistance to us when we need it. I'm fundraising for the AFAF Campaign because not only have these charities helped people around me, they will be there for me tomorrow should I need their help too!!! Let's all pay it forward!!

Help our fellow Airmen and Guardians and their families when they need us most!
The AFAF is comprised of Four major Charities
The AF Aid Society Mission - The mission of AFAS is to provide emergency financial assistance, educational support, and quality of life programs for Airmen, Guardians and their families.
- Raised $20 Million in 2020
- Helped 26,000 Airmen, Guardians and Families
- $5.8 Million went to Education programs
- $770,000 to community Programs
The AF Enlisted Village Mission - Established in 1967 it was found that 50,000 Widows of enlisted men were living in poverty and with the assistance of former Air Force Chief of Staff General and Mrs. John D. Ryan, a group of active duty and retired Air Force noncommissioned officers set about to correct this with the goal of building a retirement community for surviving spouses of retired enlisted Air Force members. Today we carry on that mission.
- Priority is given to surviving spouses of retired enlisted Air Force, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve.
- Surviving spouses whose enlisted sponsors served in other branches of the service when space is available
- Moms of active duty members are eligible for permanent housing on a space available basis due to family
members’ deployment or needing assisted living or memory support
- The Mom Rule is our guiding principle that ensures that all staff members treat residents fairly and with dignity.
- Would I do this to my mom?
- Would I do this for my mom?
- Would my mom approve?
The AF Village Charitable Foundation Mission - In 1970, Air Force Village opened the doors to its beautiful retirement community in San Antonio, Texas, and for decades it has remained true to its core charitable mission: to care for the widowed spouses of retired Air Force officers.
- Over 600 surviving spouses have been served
- Over $23 million has been invested in their care since 1970
- 100% of gifts go directly to the residents’ living expenses and continuing care to allow them the peace of mind to live comfortably in their homes with a secure future
The LeMay Foundation Mission - Is to promote financial stability to surviving spouses of retired USAF and USSF members so they can remain in their homes.
- Active in 23 states with our largest recipient population CA,NC,SC, and TX
- The Foundation has helped pay a $27,100 past due mortgage payments, dental needs, and minor home repairs.
- Provided Covid Relief to help with all the unexpected expenses due to the pandemic
- OVER $363,101 in grants just in 2021
These four official charities of the Air Force take care of us from the day we join throughout our retirement years. And then they are there for our surviving spouses. AFAF is truly FOR AIRMEN AND GUARDIANS, BY AIRMEN AND GUARDIANS!!!
