I believe every child deserves the chance of a healthy future.
Please help me raise funds in support of the children being treated at the Nemours/Alfred I duPont Hospital for Children.
What Has Nemours Done For Me?
Nemours has brought a sense of normalcy to my family and to my life. When I was in the hospital whether sick from a cold or dehydration they didn’t make me feel left out. Children are provided with activities while staying in-patient. Mobile libraries are brought around the hospital to let kids “borrow” the books to have something to do while waiting the long hours in waiting rooms. There are service dogs that go around throughout the hospital and the ER that the children can bond with and feel somewhat at home if they have a pet themselves. They provide toys, food, clothes, all things a child could need or want while spending long hours in the hospital. They provided all of this AND more while I was under their care. They made me feel not so alone, seeing other kids like me. Knowing it wasn’t my fault that I was that way, but showing me how to deal with it in a way that wasn’t hurtful or resentful to anyone and most of all not towards myself. That sense of normalcy was a HUGE part of the great impact that they have had on not only myself but on my family too. The doctors gave me the confidence to live my very best life and not let any of my medical issues hold me back and I am forever grateful for that.
So to sum it up: What nemours has done for me is beyond any possible explanation. They gave me a reason to live and a way to not feel so alone no matter what was going on in my life.
