Chef Steve and both the On the Nines and BOUK Catering families have been supporters of the Ada Jenkins Center for many years. 

AJC provides such important services to the Lake Norman communities in need and we are proud to be considered a partner and friend!

From the food pantry, medical services, educational programs and more, Ada Jenkins Center is an organization that the entire Charlotte region should highlight and support. 

We are excited to participate in Confections for Good this year amid the pandemic as a fun way to raise money for the invaluable programs and services. 

 

 

Recipe and Directions

Chocolate Crème BrÛlée


Ingredients

1 quart of heavy cream
1 cup of sugar
1 ounce Coffee liquor
1 cup dark chocolate
1 vanilla bean
10 egg yolks
Sugar for BrÛlée***

Directions

1. Heat all ingredients (except egg yolks) in sauce pot.

2. Once chocolate is melted, take off heat and let set to 10 minutes.

3. Slowly temper** mixture into egg yolks.

4. Place mixture into ramekins.  Place ramekins into 4-inch pan. Place pan into oven and fill with water until water reaches halfway up the ramekin.

5. Bake at 300 F until set.  About 45 minutes.

6. Carefully take out of oven and remove from water bath.

7. Let cool in refrigerator.

8. Once firm, spread sugar evenly and BrÛlée with torch.
