Help Save Alkies!

As many of you know, my dear friend Amanda was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2022, 10 days after the birth of her 2 year old twins. During her pregnancy, I would tell Amanda I felt something was wrong, she always felt run down and was losing weight. Doctors told her it was her pregnancy. After birth, she did not feel any better and went to the ER where they drained fluid from her lungs and a few days later she got her diagnosis. I will forever remember the moment she called and gave me the news. Life is so unfair, how could this person who is the embodiment of optimism be taken away from her new family. Her world came crashing down around her. Thankfully, her cancer is one that is manageable by a daily medication - 8 pills a day - no chemo, no radiation. She can seemingly live the life she was expecting to live and has thrived for 27 months on her 8 pills a day. I am so thankful that Amanda has this medication and she continues to thrive. Fear has to be one of the biggest challenges with her diagnosis, the fear that the medication will stop working and she’ll have to take stronger steps to fight her cancer. Our hope is that medicine stays ahead of her cancer and we are still being fools together when he are 80. I ask that you please take a moment to donate a few dollars to ALK + research. Help keep Amanda’s cancer research ahead of her cancer. Statistically, those diagnosed with ALK+ lung cancer are like Amanda, young and healthy. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading this and donating. It means more than you know.
