I was diagnosed in December 2023 with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. I had tumors everywhere: lung and multiple organs, spine and chest bones, and even one in the brain. After one round of chemo, it turned out that I have a rare form of lung cancer called ALK (3-5% of all lung cancer patients). I am now on a targeted therapy that essentially keeps the ALK lung cancer cells from replicating. Many of my tumors shrank and are stable but are still there. My lung mass is still 6cm long. I'll be on these cancer meds (+ side effects) until they one day stop working.
There is no cure for my lung cancer. But like Rocky Balboa I refuse to give up and am determined to fight to win against Ivan Drago. I prioritize 3 things these days: My Health, My Family, and Community.
Those who know me closely know that the Palantir investor community is a big part of my life. But another key community in my life now is the ALK Positive community and the ALK Positive org. ALK Positive has helped me immensely in my cancer journey this past year. I attended the ALK Lung Cancer Summit (organized by ALK Positive) in Nashville in July to learn about the exciting momentum in ALK lung cancer research. I have built new friendships with other ALK lung cancer patients through ALK Positive's programs. I am much more knowledgeable about my ALK lung cancer and treatment options due to ALK Positive.
On my trip to Nashville, I went down to Huntsville AL to the NASA Space Center and saw the amazing Saturn V rocket that put Americans on the moon. If we landed a person on the moon, then we can eventually find a cure for cancer.
Please help me raise funds that help ALK Positive to help improve the life expectancy and quality of life of ALK lung cancer patients. Perhaps even find a cure.
