LUNG CANCER AWARENESS month is November. I hope my story sheds light and hope to Lung Cancer patients. I was diagnosed with ALK Positive Lung Cancer in November 2013. The median survival rate was 3 yrs. when I was diagnosed. In 2017, my cancer progressed. My only option was to enter into a clinical trial. The trial drug miraculously worked for 7 1/2 years. When I progressed this year, I enrolled in a new clinical in February. It has been 8 months, and I feel great. Reasearch has saved my life and provided me the time to make memories with my loved ones and friends. I have hope that one day research will find a cure. ALK Positive Inc. is nonprofit patient run organization that provides a link to researchers, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies to help in the search for a cure.
