Junior Achievement is the world's largest non-profit economic education organization, reaching more than four million students each year. Founded in 1919, JA's mission is to educate and inspire young people to achieve financial literacy, become prepared for the work force, and embrace entrepreneurship in order to succeed in a global economy. In 2015, 430 JA volunteers reached 11,156 K-12 students with age-appropriate, interactive curriculum amounting to 62,748 classroom hours. These dedicated volunteers brought Junior Achievement’s hands-on business and economics lessons to life, focusing on work readiness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and the importance of staying in school.
