In Honor of Jacquie Kerr
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Jacquie Kerr’s passing. She lost her courageous battle with Scleroderma in 2015, just three days before her 50th birthday. To me—and to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her—Jacquie was a true warrior.
She fought with incredible strength for ten years, bravely undergoing every experimental treatment and procedure available in her relentless pursuit of answers—not only for herself, but for others facing the same fight.
Recently, I met another inspiring individual who has been living with this disease for over 20 years. It reminded me once again of the powerful legacy Jacquie left behind.
Jacquie, thank you for all that you gave to the medical community and to the people whose lives you continue to impact. Because of your courage, others are living longer, fighting harder, and holding their loved ones a little closer.
Ten years later, your strength still inspires us. You made a profound difference in this world—and I know you know that. ?
