HARBOR CHRISTIAN CHURCH

4:30 PM WELCOME RECEPTION | 5:00 PM DINNER | 6:00 PM AWARDS

CLUE's annual awards dinner brings together partners in labor, faith, and justice organizations to connect, celebrate, and recommit to all we can achieve when we work in sacred solidarity to build a more sacred and just society. When you support CLUE through Architects of Justice you fuel an organized, connected, interfaith movement for economic, racial, and immigrant justice.

MEET THIS YEAR'S HONOREES!

OC COURT OBSERVERS

Since June, a consistent group of volunteers has been doing court observation every day of the week when the court is open. The work they have undertaken in the past year, supporting people at their immigration hearings has been very difficult, being with families through division and trauma. The difference it has made to the families they have accompanied is immeasurable

STRIKING STARBUCKS UNITED WORKERS

Since November, thousands of Starbucks workers have been on strike; 12,000+ baristas—young, queer, and workers of color among them—are organizing for a fair contract with higher pay, better staffing and hours, and an end to union busting. We applaud their bravery and fight for better working conditions in the face of corporate greed.

TOM CRISP AND BRAD CHRISTERSON

Professors Tom Crisp and Brad Christerson have been integral to all of CLUE’s accompaniment work, whether in the court house, at delegations, or on the picket lines. Tom is a professor in the philosophy department at his university, while Brad is a professor and Department of Sociology Chair. For years they have co-taught a nonviolence course together. Brad recently co-authored a book titled: “God's Resistance: Mobilizing Faith to Defend Immigrants.”

HELP US MEET A $100,000 GOAL FOR JUSTICE

Rev. James Lawson helped found CLUE as a vehicle for faith and labor to join together in their resistance to plantation capitalism. The need for that resistance is more obvious than ever.

With your help, we can continue to expand our work in 2026, bringing together people of all faiths to build the Beloved Community in Southern CA.

HELP BUILD THE BASE: Thousands more people have joined our movement this year. With additional organizers on the ground, we can engage more of them in the transformational work of justice.

HELP GROW THE MOVEMENT: New groups have surfaced to counter authoritarian overreach by the federal administration. With your support we can connect these groups in coalition, exponentially growing the nonviolent resistance movement.

HELP STRENGTHEN CONGREGATIONAL  JUSTICE-MAKING: More congregations are reaching out asking for help connecting to their neighbors. With more resources we could offer them ongoing trainings in mutual aid, congregational safety, and other real support for their community building work.

Thank you for investing in this transformational work.

HOW CLUE HAS MET THIS MOMENT

Here are just a few ways CLUE has stepped up in the last year to accompany the most vulnerable members of our communities–low-wage workers, immigrants, and communities of color.

  • When ICE first surged into Los Angeles, CLUE established an immigrant bond fund and has now bonded out over 100 individuals in just five months, reuniting them with their families.
  • When Kaiser mental health care workers remained resolute through a 196-day strike, including a 5-day fast that called attention to the sacrifices that caregivers make for their patients, CLUE was with them at every step until they received a new dignified contract.
  • When ICE started abducting immigrants at their court hearings, CLUE trained 250 faith leaders as court observers to provide prayer and faithful witness to families in immigration court every day of the week across Southern California.
  • Through a two-year struggle more than 100 CLUE members stood in sacred solidarity with hospitality workers until they moved the LA City Council to pass a new living wage ordinance that will help workers thrive.
  • As the Trump administration has threatened violence and chaos, CLUE has trained more than 2,000 community members in nonviolent direct-action.
