In 2014, which at this point is 11 years ago, one of the things that I’ve realized is that Parkinson’s disease affects all of us differently.

The symptoms that each one of us have is very unique because the disease is caused by damage to your brain, the parts of your brain that are affected are so complex that the symptoms that you present are unique to your situation. For me, the APDA and Rocksteady boxing, have helped me everyday fight this disease. These classes have allowed me to expand my brain functions to maintain my daily routine and helps me to stay as fit as I can be and make so many new and welcoming friends. I tell everyone with Parkinson’s that this is a challenge that we cannot give up and we fight together. I’ve made so many new friends. Nobody judges you whether you can do something or you can’t. They are all there to help you be the best that you can be. The programs are amazing. The workouts are spectacular and you do what you can as little or as much. For me, I get up in the morning and look forward to going to these classes and I thank them and everyone for the opportunity you’ve given me this far in my life. I believe without these classes and support I wouldn’t be here to talk about this today. I appreciate your help in raising funds for the research and support for these on going programs for myself and others.
