The 2024 Missouri Optimism Walk - Chesterfield is a way for Shirley and I to make a small contribution to support research in treatment for Parkinson’s Disease here in St. Louis.

When Alan was diagnosed with Parkinson’s over 10 years ago, we did not understand the battle we were about to have with the disease. You may have friends or family that have or will be faced with this challenge as well. We are in the Optimism Walk this year because we appreciate all of the resources this funding makes possible for all of the victims of the disease. The Walk helps fund: The local American Parkinson Disease Association Chapter, Free Exercise Classes Onsite, and Online lead by instructors trained to combat PD, various free support groups on PD topics, talks by local movement disorder specialists. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Come help us to knock out Parkinson’s Disease, so we can reach our goal this year. Thank you.

- Every six minutes someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD).
- Funds raised enable the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) to continue providing local education, information, and support, as well as critical nationwide virtual programs to keep everyone supported and connected no matter where they live. You will also help fund scientific research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and ultimately a cure.
