As many of you know, my stepdad Tom is currently living with Alzheimer's disease. My family has endured many awful experiences because of this disease and the fallout that happens before & after a diagnosis. Thankfully, Alzheimer's Project is a local nonprofit that is dedicated to serving families right here in the Florida Big Bend. They provide supportive services for both the caregiver and the person living with the disease.

It hurts my heart that my parents didn't have the support they needed when they were going through confusing times. If they had access to a resource like Alzheimer's Project, things probably would've played out very differently.
