It's a pleasure every year to support ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation through its annual 5k in honor of my daughter Reese - a survivor! She was diagnosed at age 6 with a brain tumor, underwent surgery, radiation and high dose chemotherapy as well as months of PT, OT, speech therapy.. you name it! ASK was there for our family literally from day 1 in the hospital all the way up to now. For 12 years this orgranization has worked to support the physical, emotional, educational and social needs of my daughter.
This year I am EXCITED to participate in the virtual 5k event with my good friend Erin Williams as she helps me raise money for this organization so dear to my family and our RVA community. Erin and I will run a combined 15 eight mile loops at Pocahontas State Park the weekend of May 7-9 and we will celebrate/honor 15 people (1 for each loop) that have been effected by this disease (battling, survived or passed).
Will you help us?
YOU can sponsor a loop for your loved one! For a minimum of $100 (more is always appreciated!) we will dedicate an 8 mile loop to your warrior per your instructions! We will carry their picture, where a favorite color or team shirt.. carry a special keepsake... you name it! We will also do shout outs on social media and of course all the $ raised will go directly to ASK to support families here in Central Virginia impacted by childhood cancer.
Here's what you do to secure a loop:
1) Make a donation to Team ReeseStrong by visiting: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/askwalk2021/team/876473/
**You can also register to participate in the virtual 5k and join Team ReeseStrong to do your own 5K by visiting askwalk.org, click register, and select to join Team ReeseStrong!**
2) contribute a minimum of $100 and leave us a note in the "Donation Details" section that includes who you'd like to dedicate your sponsored loop to
3) complete your donation or registration!
Once we receive notification that you have sponsored a loop, Erin or I will reach out to you via email for your instructions on how you would like us to honor your loved one on our run.
Thank you for supporting ASK and helping us honor those battling cancer!
All my best
Sherry Klauer
