Dear friend, 

I'm asking for your support for Star Gospel Mission's A Walk In Their Shoes event. This is an effort to directly support the work Star Gospel Mission does to serve those in Charleston who are experiencing homelessness and addiction. Star Gospel Mission has been serving men, women, and families since 1904 and they have big plans to expand to serve even more of those in need. 

On June 8th, I will be joining a group of others who are also raising money and awareness by walking / hiking through the streets of downtown Charleston in the early morning hours. We will stop along the way at different stations to learn more from experts about what it is like for individuals who are experiencing homelessness. I will be carrying supplies for the homeless on my back. The goal is that this experience will give me a better understanding of the hardships so many in our city are experiencing every day and that I will also be able to raise the vital resources needed to continue this important work. I'm asking you to consider a gift to help cover the cost of those who live at Star Gospel Mission as they work to get their lives back from the instability that caused their vulnerable situation.
