As many of you know, Carter threw us for a loop and surprised us by coming into this world at just 31 weeks.  Although it was tough having him in the hospital for an entire month, we are so lucky to have had the phenomenal care we had at Children's Hospital in St. Paul.  We also had incredible support from all of our friends and family and can not thank them enough.  We feel very fortunate that Carter was healthy during his entire stay, but know that not all premature births end up this way.    Having been through the ups and downs of having a child in the NICU, we now have a special place in our hearts for other babies and families that have gone through the same experience and hope to give back in as many ways as we can.
