July 3, 2013 was one of the scariest yet amazing days of our lives. It was the day our son Jackson was born. Jackson wasn't due until August 27, he was 8 weeks premature. He was 4lbs 5oz and 18" long. As soon as he came out the neonatal team stepped in and took over. We were extremely fortunate that he didn't have any health problems. He just needed some more time to grow. We met many nurses and doctors in the neonatal department. I can honestly say we couldn't complain about one. They all did such an amazing job at taking care of Jackson and making us feel welcome. After 3 weeks in the NICU Jackson got to come home!
This whole experience was extremely hard but the staff did their best to make things easy. I know there are a lot of families out there that had/have it way worse than we did with Jackson.
