Calvin was born at 27 weeks due to my severe preeclampsia.  He made it 2 days on bed rest before the medication I was receiving was causing him to slow down and become really tired.  Doctors decided it was best for both of us to deliver early.  Calvin was born on August 31, 2014 3 months early.  He weighed 1 pound 13 ounces and was 13 inches long.  Sometimes I look at the trusty ruler on my desk at work and remember the days when Calvin was shorter than that ruler. 

On October 1st he had a PDA ligation to close the hole in his heart that was causing a murmur and was making it hard to breathe and focus on growing.

He spent 108 days in the Children's Hospital NICU where he received great care from the doctors and nurses there. He received help from many departments (nurses, doctors, lactation, speech, OT, Pulmonologists, to name a few)

On December 16th Calvin was able to come home!  He is still on oxygen and has had some small issues, but overall he is very healthy for how early he was born. 

We are so lucky that we were at Children's and they were able to save our small fry Calvin.  We will forever remember everyone there that we met and helped us along the way to getting Calvin home.
