Johnathon James Woodford was born on Saturday May 19, 2012 at 4:38 am. He was born at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie, WI and then was transported by the NICU transport team via ambulance to the Minneapolis Children's Hospital. He was born at 23 weeks 2 days. He was 1 pound 4 ounces at birth and under 1 pound after he lost some of the fluid weight. He was 11.5 inches long. He spent 150 days in the hospital between the NICU and ICC. He had hernia surgery but he had clean brain scans and his heart valve closed on its own. He had a hard time getting off of his ventilator and his oxygen but shortly before he got to come home he finally got off his cannula. He also fought through a couple of infections. He came home on caffeine and a monitor but quickly got off both of those. He came home on October 15, 2012 weighing a whopping 9 pounds 5 ounces. Today he is a very active, healthy and “normal” almost 3 year old boy. He loves playing with cars and trains, playing outside, reading books and trying to keep up and do what his 5 year old sister does. Johnathon is our miracle boy and we are truly blessed to have him in our life. We are very thankful for all that the staff at Children's did for our little man!
