After a close family member passed away in 2014 I wanted something to take up the time that I had spent taking care of her. Since I love animals, I had always wanted to do something with the Delaware County SPCA so I decided to volunteer there. I started volunteering in March of 2015. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I adopted my dog Luna from PAC in August of 2015. I started at one day a week, went to two days a week, and eventually ended up at three days a week. I then decided that I would like to work there as an employee so in December of 2016 I became a proud kennel worker, falling in love with the dogs every day I was there. For my facebook friends you have seen me post countless stories and pictures of the dogs that have captured my heart (Vern, Sweetness, Emmy, Jabber Jaws, and Bruno, just to name a few). During COVID I was still a kennel worker but was asked to help out in HR. It was soon after asked that I was asked I would consider moving full-time to HR and Finance. I liked the idea and my arthritic knees agreed with me. Well it's now 2023 and I've been an employee almost seven years! I'm in the finance dept full-time and love working here. In fact, I'm making no plans to retire until I'm 70 (2033). Even after that I'm sure I will be back as a volunteer again.
