My personal story:  Big Brothers Big Sisters has been my main organization since 2009 when a friend of mine (who was a Big Brother in the program) convinced me to co-organize a charity golf scramble with all proceeds going to the organization. That golf scramble still occurs annually in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to this day. Over the course of the years I was involved, we had raised thousands of dollars for the organization and raised awareness in the hopes that more people would want to get involved.

I now serve as a Board member and am a Big Sister in the program. I continue to see the positive impact BBBS has in the local communities and how the boys and girls in the program are positively influenced through the mentoring relationship they receive by having a Big Brother or a Big Sister.

We are so heavily reliant on donors willing to spare what they can, whether that's time volunteering, coming to an event, or making cash donations. Please consider donating if you can't come and bowl with us on May 4th.  Approximately 88% of all funds received go towards funding the programs offered. Trust that every dollar you donate is being utilized to help keep this organization running for the sole focus of helping our local kids.

Big Brothers Big Sisters' evidence-based approach is designed to create positive youth outcomes, including educational success, avoidance of risky behaviors, higher aspirations, greater confidence, and improved relationships.
