Hello, my name is Elizabeth Price and I am this year’s Vice President of Community Involvement for Beat Bama Food Drive. Beat Bama Food Drive has a special my heart. Having spent my whole life in Auburn, Alabama my fondest memories come from this town. Whether it be playing football on Yarbrough’s playground, watching the fireworks every New Years on Duck Sanford Lawn, youth group at AUMC, playing for the Lady Tiger Soccer team, or going to get Mrs. Stories with my family and grandparents, Auburn has molded me to the young women I am today. Before coming to college I felt like I had given little in return to the place that has given me so much. Beat Bama Food Drive has provided me with an opportunity to give back to my community and my home. The food donated to our drive is donated directly to the Food Bank of East Alabama which serves seven counties in our area. Within the seven counties served by the Food Bank of East Alabama, 66,090 individuals live in food-insecure households. I believe in Beat Bama Food Drive because I believe in giving back to my fellow classmates, neighbors, and friends.
